JUSTICE OF THE WILD Audiobook by Michael du Preez.

This is an exciting book about canned lion hunting. The scourge of wildlife poaching, in all its horror, is revealed.

A freak electric thunderstorm! A double wire mesh security fence surrounding the Lion Park near Johannesburg is crushed and flattened by a gigantic falling tree. Five lionesses and one huge male, escape into suburbia.

The Lion Park official, Martin Resnick, orders his rangers to load their dart guns and big game rifles, hurry to their Jeep and mount an immediate search. But they are hampered by the heavy storm raging outside and rapidly approaching nightfall. Six hungry lions are roaming about free, on the outskirts of Johannesburg. Bad news, Resnick thought. If the media gets to hear about it, even worse. He could lose his job.

Not only do the media hear about it, but they splash frantic headlines of the dramatic news on every radio and TV station in the country.

Some very resourceful poachers, watching, are galvanized into action. Lions are valuable, and worth a lot of instant cash money. Rampha Singh and his friend Paul Patterson are told the news earlier at school. But soon after, as they make their way to Lanseria airport, they notice some activity going on in the tall grass, close to the road. They stop their motorcycle, dismount and in the fading light watch fascinated, as they see some lions being darted and loaded into a distinctive looking closed van. They both presume that the Lion Park officials have successfully concluded their dangerous mission.

But they are wrong.

Later that night, they are requested by Captain Peterson of the police and the Park officials, to point out exactly where they saw the lions being captured. Little do they realize what an ominous, hair-raising ordeal lies ahead.

That very night, two of the Lion Park rangers are mauled.

Two days later, at a fast-food outlet near their school, the boys notice the same enclosed van parked nearby. When the vehicle finally pulls off, they follow it to a nearby smallholding where they are taken by surprise, overpowered and abducted by one of the poachers, Tiny Terblanche

What will this ruthless man do with his young hostages? To what lengths will he go, to avoid being exposed?

Even murder…?

The boys’ nightmare is about to begin.
